Will You Accept This Green Card?

Reality shows are bringing people together for "love" all the time -- now there's one that's doing it for a real reason: citizenship.

A new show called "Who Wants to Marry a U.S. Citizen" (which may or may not be real), is giving three lucky immigrants the chance to marry a perfectly lovely American for the chance at love, happiness and to live in this country legally.

Take that, Trista and Ryan!

17. This show is definitely fake, even if they put it on the air it’s not true. My sister in law is from Russia and you have to go through so much red tape to get your citizenship. And it takes years for the process to be over. Not only that but you can’t even get your temporary green card if there’s any proof that your marriage is based solely on getting citizenship in the US. It has to be a real marriage love and kids and all that other stuff. Nice try but it won’t work.

19. It's "accept" not "except." Someone should buy this writer a copy of "English for Dummies."

20. Uhhh... I think it's "Accept." Not "Except." Don't your writers proofread???

Maybe this writer is an immigrant himself.

23. Since illegal immigration is fast becoming one of the biggest issues in America, I doubt that show would get an audience made up of anyone but other illegals. I can't believe that such a show would get any financial backing from anywhere. It's disgusting!

24. Why don't we just "except" this TV show?

25. Uh...don't they know it is not except it is accept??? LOL...who wrote this article?

26. I'm thinking TMZ meant "accept" instead of "except?" I don't think the basis of this stupid show is even legal. If Immigration can prove that a marriage was just a set-up for the express purpose of providing an immigrant with citizenship by virtue of the marriage, the marriage is nullified and the offending immigrant is deported. So this show isn't going to go anywhere, LOL, it is in direct violation with immigration laws. I have a friend who has to meet with immigration for a third time because immigration is "challenging" her marriage to an immigrant. They are put in seperate rooms, and questioned about very private matters, and this is because of the huge age difference that immigration sees as a "red flag." This show is beyond lame, in the poorest possible taste.
